The Alumni Arena at UB was constructed in 1982.  The statistics are as follows:  3,036 sheets of plywood laid in two layers (weighing 80 tons), 97,000 cushioning pads, 75 miles of 1-1/2” face width inch-thick Northern Hard Maple flooring weighing 92 tons, 215 gallons of wood floor sealer, 170 gallons of floor finish, and 5.31 miles of gamelines.

At the time of its completion, this was the largest panel-cushion maple floor in the world at 49,000 square feet.  Today, it is still one of the largest in the United States.
