The RPI Alumni Sports and Recreation Center floor was installed in 1999. It was installed directly on top of an existing urethane floor which had been causing the facility serious problems. The Western New York Floor Company and Robbins Sports Surfaces worked closely with the owner to come up with the right solution. The main court area (5,000 square feet) is a Robbins Sportwood Ultra Star floor system, which meets all of the D.I.N. Standards (18032, Part II). The remainder of the floor (34,000 square feet) is Robbins Pulastic over the cushioned subfloor.
